Cineworld Ipswich 4DX Launch…It’s quite a ride!
Cineworld in Ipswich celebrated the launch of the UK’s fifth 4DX cinema with a gala reception attended by players from Ipswich Town Football Club and the Deputy Mayor.
Introduced from South Korea, 4DX is considered the biggest innovation in cinematic technology. Set up in a new 136 seater auditorium and boasting a 12.7m by 7m screen, Cineworld Ipswich 4DX provides a revolutionary cinematic experience that stimulates all 5 senses.
The new 4DX auditorium includes high-tech motion seats and special effects including fog, lightening, mist, bubbles, water, scent, plus 16 varieties of special effects in 3D format which work in perfect synchronicity with the action on the screen, creating the most innovative and exhilarating cinematic experience yet!
The Cineworld Ipswich 4DX experience is totally immersive, it makes you feel like you are part of the movie and there is nothing quite like it in the area. It was a day long event with children from a local primary school being invited to the cinema in the morning to watch the Jungle Book in 4DX. Local sports teams, university and college student arrived in the afternoon to watch 4DX trailers with media and VIP guests including Ipswich Town Football Club players and the Deputy Mayor arriving in the evening for a drinks reception before watching Independence Day in 4DX.
My brief was to photograph the event and capture engaging style imagery to show the excitement of the launch event and bring to life the ground breaking technology of the Cineworld Ipswich 4DX experience. The goal was to demonstrate how the new auditorium stimulates all 5 senses by capturing as many of the visible special effects as possible such as bubble, water, fog or via audience reactions to the experiences.
I was lucky enough to be able to view some of the 4DX trailers and I can honestly say that it was an amazing experience and one I can’t wait to repeat.
